The Matthew Garrison app (“App”) is a music and artist app that provides access to content, optional subscriptions, lesson booking, and related features. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with the App.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. If you create an account or sign in, we collect the information you provide (such as username, email, and password). Account and session data are stored and processed via our backend (Back4App) to provide sign-in and access control.
Subscription and purchase data. Subscription and in-app purchase transactions are processed by Apple. We receive information necessary to provide access (e.g. subscription status) via Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat). We do not store or process your payment card details.
Device and usage data. We may collect device type, app version, and usage information necessary to operate the App, prevent abuse, and improve the service (e.g. which features are used). If you use video chat or recording features, the App may use your device’s camera and microphone only when you grant permission and only for those features.
Support and communications. If you contact us for support, we use the contact details and messages you provide to respond and to improve our service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features (including content, subscriptions, and lesson booking).
Authenticate you and manage your account and preferences.
Process and fulfill subscriptions and in-app purchases and to provide access to purchased content or features.
Enable features that you choose to use (e.g. video chat, recording) when you grant the required permissions.
Respond to your requests and support inquiries.
Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share information with service providers (e.g. hosting, analytics, subscription management) only as needed to operate the App and under appropriate agreements.

3. Data Storage and Security

Account and session data are stored on our backend infrastructure. We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest.
Some data (e.g. preferences, cached content) may be stored on your device. You can clear app data or delete the App to remove local data.
Payment and subscription details are handled by Apple and our subscription provider; we do not store full payment card information.

4. Your Choices and Rights

You can update account information or delete your account through the App or by contacting us.
You can disable camera and microphone access in your device settings; some features (e.g. video chat) may then be unavailable.
You can cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the current version in the App (Settings → Legal → Privacy Policy) and on this page, and may update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
